Computing and Information Technology (IT) is emerging as a driving force in education, commerce and industry. In this era of Computing and IT revolution, computer systems are playing an important role in every aspect of human life for automation, from simple office automation to decision support systems, production planning to e-commerce, communication, online education etc.

The School of Computing and IT focuses on effective design, development and implementation of Computing and IT curricula to train highly qualified personnel and carry out research to ensure information systems, applications and resource viability in various industry sectors like business, education, media and entertainment, healthcare, government, and service.
The School was established in 2013 with two departments namely department of Computer Science and department of Information Technology. The School of Computing and IT is committed to the University College’s quality policy to provide high quality training, research, innovation and extension services in entrepreneurship, science and technology for socio-economic development in a dynamic world. The objectives of the School are to:

Course

Description

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology

This course prepares students to work in the IT Industry i.e. software development, database administration and networking.

The minimum requirenments are: K.C.S.E Mean grade C+, C in mathematics and English; or Diploma in relevant discipline.

Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering

It is a course that equips students with the necessary skills to work in the area of management, finance, accountancy, banking, consultancy, administration and related fields.

Diploma in Information Technology

A course that inspires s deep understanding of the relationship between law and justice, its importance and the centrality of the rule of law in a democratic state.

Diploma in Computer Science

This course prepares students to work in the electrical and electronic engineering fields.

Minimum in KCSE means grade C-(Minus) and C- in Mathematics and English D+ OR  Certificate in Information Technology or Certificate in Computer Maintenance and repairs or any other Qualification recognized by the University College

Diploma in Computer Engineering and Technology

This course prepares students to work in the electrical and electronic engineering fields.

Minimum in KCSE means grade C-(Minus) and C- in Mathematics and English D+ OR  Certificate in Information Technology or Certificate in Computer Maintenance and repairs or any other Qualification recognized by the University College

Certificate in Information Technology

This course prepares students to work as IT technicians, experts and Entrepreneurs.

Minimum KCSE mean grade D+ or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University College.

Proficiency Certificate in Computer Applications

This course prepares students to work as IT software technicians, experts and Entrepreneurs.

Minimum KCSE certificate or Mock results.

Executive Certificate in Computer Applications

This course prepares students to work as IT software technicians, experts and Entrepreneurs.

Minimum KCSE or KCE certificate

Certificate in Computer Repair and Maintenance

This course prepares students to work as IT software technicians, experts and Entrepreneurs.

Minimum KCSE mean grade D+ or an Equivalent Qualification recognized by the University College.
