The information regarding community spread of COVID 19 has been changing rapidly in the past two months following the first human detection in China. The disease has spread to many continents, Africa included. In response to this, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the condition a Public Health Emergency. The disease has resulted in a number of morbidities and mortalities across the globe. Definitive treatment or vaccine for the disease is not available at the moment.
The University Management together with the University Response Committee has felt the need to bring to the attention of all members of staff and students that the disease is preventable and thus calls for a collective responsibility in achieving this goal.
In this regard, Lhe University ManagernenL will endeavour to provide a conducive environment for prevention of the disease by ensuring thorough cleanliness of Lhe University environment and consistent supply of water and soap at various designated points.
All members of staff and students are therefore advised, with immediate effect, to undertake the following measures in the effort to control and/or prevent the possible spread of the disease:
