The Ministry of Education in consultation with Education stakeholders made a pronouncement on Thursday, 30th July 2020 that institutions of learning including universities shall reopen for face-to-face learning in January 2021.
However, the Ministry was categorical that universities should continue offering online learning and examinations but in adherence and observance to academic quality measures set by the Commission for University Education and in line with the health guidelines set by the Ministry of Health to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Following the pronouncement, the University Senate during its 57th meeting held on 1st September 2020
approved online registration, orientation, examinations, and virtual learning as the University prepare to reopen for face-to-face sessions in January 2021.
Therefore, in this regard, the University Senate wishes to inform all first-year students admitted during the
2020/2021 academic year that there shall only be online registration, orientation, and virtual learning.
THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS ARE, THEREFORE, NOT EXPECTED TO REPORT TO THE UNIVERSITY FOR FACE-TO-FACE REGISTRATION AND LECTURES.
