In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, students and deans from the Murang’a University of Technology (MUT) came together to participate in a community cleanup event in Murang’a Town and its suburbs. This initiative, spearheaded by the university, aimed to promote environmental conservation while also recognizing the contributions of women to society.
Under the theme of “Promoting Cleaner environment for a sustainable Tomorrow,” the event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members alike. Armed with gloves, garbage bags, and a shared sense of purpose, the volunteers took to the streets to rid the town and its surroundings of litter and waste.
However, the MUT team’s efforts didn’t stop there. In a gesture of appreciation for the local community, the university gifted overalls adorned with the university logo to grocery store owners in the area. These overalls not only serve as practical attire for their daily work but also symbolize the strong bond between the university and the community it serves.
