Strategic Plan

The University Strategic Plan

Looking forward, there are many questions over the next decade. The University’s Strategic Plan (2019 – 2023) strives to anticipate the global, technological and educational changes ahead, and position our institution to lead the evolution of the 21st-century Science, Engineering and Technology research and education for the benefit of the common good.

Over the coming years, the University will focus on three key pillars/themes – Academic Excellence, Quality, and Institutional Capacity Development – pushing ourselves to be innovative, daring and forward-thinking in our service to society. Providing the foundation for these pillars will be our core values, and the people and spaces that enable our work.

The University seeks to meet the following strategic objectives over the plan period:

  1. To promote academic excellence.
  2. To promote quality research, innovation and consultancy.
  3. To promote linkages, collaborations and outreach.
  4. To strengthen student welfare services.
  5. To enhance human resource training and capacity building.
  6. To provide appropriate and adequate infrastructure.
  7. To expand resource mobilization and management.

The University also aims to put efforts towards contributing effectively and efficiently to the achievement of the national development agenda as espoused in the Kenya Vision 2030.
