ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Kilimo Festival and Conference aims to harness this potential by fostering dialogue, collaboration, and innovation. It will convene policymakers, development partners, agribusiness stakeholders, and young change-makers to co-create solutions that address structural barriers and amplify youth participation in the sector. By bridging access gaps and enhancing market linkages, the event seeks to empower youth with opportunities and resources to build sustainable livelihoods.

Kilimo Festival and Conference aligns with Kenya’s food security and sustainable development goals by prioritizing the unique needs of youth while unlocking their transformative potential. Through knowledge sharing, innovation incubation, and strengthened partnerships, this event will catalyze a youth-led movement for resilient and future-ready agrifood systems.

Format of the Conference

The Kilimo Festival and Conference 2025 will be co-organized by Smalholder Africa, Kenya Agricultural Students Association, Muranga County Government, and Muranga University of Technology which will be the host. It will involve the following four major events;

1. Pre-conference meetings and webinars
2. Main conference (3 days, hybrid), consisting of:
   1. Plenary sessions on youth Involvement in Agriculture topics, with inspiring keynote presentations and panel discussions involving key stakeholders
   2. Parallel sessions   along    conference    tracks    with    interactive    formats    (short presentations, panel discussions, fish-bowl discussions, World Cafés).
3. Festival and Awarding Ceremony
4. Exhibitions and Pitching sessions and networking
